Farm Animals Chinese Storytime Event

On July 20th, our Chinese Storytime event brought together about 15 families for a delightful morning centered around farm animals. The event took place at 10 AM at the South County Library, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as children and parents gathered to immerse themselves in Chinese literature and culture.

Our event began with a warm-up led by Ms. Jenny, who got everyone singing and dancing. We sang a cheerful welcome song in Chinese, accompanied by fun actions that engaged both the children and their parents. It was a great way to start the day and set the tone for the rest of the event.

Following the warm-up, Vincent read an interactive story about animal sounds. The children were thrilled as they guessed the animals based on the sounds Vincent described. This interactive storytelling session not only entertained but also helped the children learn about different farm animals and their sounds in a fun and engaging way. After the story, we sang another song about animal sounds, reinforcing what the children had learned.

Later, Joseph read a playful story about a rabbit, using a puppet that the kids absolutely loved. The puppet added an extra layer of fun to the storytelling, making it a memorable experience for the children. After the story, we sang the song "小白兔" in Chinese. The picture book PDF for this story is available for download below.

Jade then read a story about a puppy, also using a cute puppet that the children enjoyed touching. This playful storytelling session was a hit with the kids. We followed the story by singing the song "哈巴狗," which many participants were already familiar with. The picture book for this story is also available for download below.

Next, we played the parachute game. Parents held the parachute and followed the music tempo, making it go up and down. The kids absolutely loved this game, and it was a wonderful way to get everyone involved and active.

At the end of the event, we gave each child a balloon, which brought smiles to all their faces.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and made this event so special. A big thank you to Ms. Jenny, Vincent, Joseph, and Jade for their fantastic contributions, and to all the families for their enthusiastic participation. We look forward to more storytime events in the future, where we can continue to explore the wonders of Chinese literature and culture together.

Stay tuned for our next event, and we hope to see you all there!
